Welcome to the January 2006 edition of the NVSI Newsletter!  We have created this newsletter in the hope to provide our clients, partners and the general measurement and automation industry public with updated information on the products and services from Neo Vista System Integrators Pty Ltd.  Below is a list of what's in this issue:

  Meet the Staff: Anthony Higgins - Senior Technical Specialist

 
Anthony is an experienced professional developer with extensive electronic, optical and systems engineering knowledge and skills. He is the principal researcher on several of our projects having worked as a private consultant for many years before joining NVSI.  Anthony has a PhD in Engineering from Sydney University and Graduate Diploma in Technology Management.
 
 

  Meet a Partner - JLE Automation (New Zealand)


JLE Automation is our Automation Partner of choice in New Zealand. JLE have worked with NVSI on several projects with great success. JLE Automation Ltd is part of the New Zealand-wide JLE Group of electrical service companies.  

  •  JLE Automation has the ability to:

    • Create functional descriptions in both narrative and Grafset format

    • Interface with Industry Standard sensors

    • work with all Major SCADA systems

    • Supply and program Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs)

    • Undertake audits of existing software systems

    • Modify, fault diagnose and program Rockwell/Allen Bradley, Omron, Siemens S5 S7, Modicon, Concept and Modbus, Festo PLCs

    • JLE Automation Ltd are Rockwell Integrators

    • Applications software using Visual Basics

    • Staff are used to working to quality systems such as ISO 9001 and Fonterra Engineering Standards.


 

  NVSI Licences Alphachron software to CSIRO



 

In October, NVSI completed negotiations with CSIRO to licence out the highly complex Alphachron software. This is an exclusive agreement to enable CSIRO to manufacture and sell the new mineral dating system. 

Aimed at research organisations world-wide, the system uses comparative concentrations of Uranium (U), Thorium (Th) and the daughter isotope 4He to accurately date mineral samples to a much longer timeframe than the more commonly known Carbon dating system. The image to the left shows the thermal scale and an infra-red camera view of a mineral sample under laser excitation necessary to release the isotopes by out-gassing.
